Struise Black Jack 750ml, 7% - Belgium

The label on the bottle says 330ml :P

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head.

Sour and slightly tarty aroma. Wood and soil. Smell like an old cellar.

Very weak flavor. Malts, citrus, bread and hints of berries.

A let down!

Avery New World Porter 355ml, 6.7% - USA

Pours almost black with a rocky tan head.

Roasted malts, dark fruits and hints of coffee in the aroma.

Dark chocolate, roasted malts, hops and coffee in the flavor.

Amager Rugporter 500ml, 8.5% - Denmark

Pours deep brown (pretty much black) with a mocha head.

Roasted malts, vanilla and toffee in the aroma.

The flavor is way much better than the aroma. Burned malts here, licorice, hints of tobacco, dark chocolate and toffee.

Akevitt Porter (Barrel-Aged Porter) 500ml, 9% - Norway

Pours black with no head. Very still.

Roasted malts, dark fruits (mostly fruits), chocolate and light hints of vanilla.

Roasted malts in the flavor as well. Dark chocolate, vanilla, light hints of coffee.

Silk Porter 650ml, 6.2% - USA

Almost black color with no head.

Roasted malts with a slightly sweet aroma.

Starts off with this deep, dark, dry sort of smokey tone. Together with roasted malts, tobacco, soil, some caramel and hints of chocolate.

Nothing to get excited over!

Road Dog Porter 355ml, 6% - USA

Dark, dirt red color with a cappuccino head.

Roasted malts and coffee aroma.

Sweet taste at first, then we get some roasted malts with light smokyness in the background. Hints of coffee and toffee.

Next time I'll pass!
