Rochefort 8 Cuvee Special 2009 750ml, 9.2% - Belgium

The cork popped and the beer poured a dark red color with a small head which didn't take long to settle.

What a weird smell. It starts off fruity and yeasty, but then suddenly changes to an unpleasant sort of rotten smell.

Malty and fruity taste. Some caramel, some hops and a pinch of spices.

This taste completely different from the "regular" Rochefort 8.

According to Beer Advocate this is a Dubbel and the "regular" Rochefort 8 is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale.

P.S. I didn't have the official glass at the time.

Trappistes Rochefort 10 330ml, 11.30% - Belgium

Brown appearance with a small head.

Fruitcake aroma. Sweet, malty and yeasty.

Tons of dried fruits up front. Raisins, prunes and caramel followed right after. A bit spicy and boozy flavor. I don't know why, but I've experienced booziness in all three Rocheforts.

Trappistes Rochefort 8 330ml, 9.2% - Belgium

Pours dark read with a nice, even fluffy head.

Fruity and malty aroma. Brown sugar and prunes.

Malty and hoppy flavor. It has this light sweetness, a mixture of brown sugar and caramel.

Slightly boozy aftertaste here as well.

Trappistes Rochefort 6 330ml, 7.5% - Belgium

Poured brown color together with a crispy, fizzy tan head. Beer pours with a nice melody.

Malty and yeasty aroma. Hints of caramel.

Very malty flavor. Followed by sugar, caramel and yeast. Slightly spicy with a boozy aftertaste. Pleasant boozy aftertaste. :)
