Nils Oscar Rökporter 2007 500ml, 6% - Sweden

Pours deep brown with almost no head.

Roasted malts and less smoke than in the 2010 version. Ham and salty hints are present in the aroma.

The flavor is more pronounced. Smoked/toasted malts, licorice, caramel and hints of ham in the flavor.

Nils Oscar Rökporter 500ml, 5.9% - Sweden

Pours dark brown with a thin head.

Smoked malts, ham and licorice in the aroma.

The flavor pretty much reflects the aroma. Tasted really good for a Swedish beer with a low ABV.

Now it's time for the 2007 version.

Nils Oscar Brown Ale 330ml, 4.6% - Sweden

Pours red with a tan head.

Slightly roasted malts. Bread, caramel and hints of biscuits!

Roasted malts in the flavor. Caramel and hints of dark fruits. This needs more flavor!

Nils Oscar Harvest Ale 500ml, 5.5% - Sweden

Pours deep copper/reddish with a little head.

Hops up front. Nice aroma full of bread, malts, caramel and resin.

Malty and bready flavor. Hoppy with caramel. Bitter finish.

Nils Oscar Barley Wine 2007 330ml, 9.5% - Sweden

pours murky copper with a short white off head.

Malts, barley, caramel and dark fruits in the aroma.

The flavor reflects the aroma.

Both are week and pale. I thought that this would develop after three years!

Nils Oscar Sorachi Blond 750ml, 6.9% - Sweden

Poured murky copper with a one finger white head.

Hops, malts, dark fruits and citrus in the aroma.

A rather light taste. Exotic fruits, malts, hops and bready notes.

Nils Oscar Imperial Stout 330ml, 7% - Sweden

Poured deep brown with no head. Rather carbonated when your swirl it.

Roasted malts, dark fruits and caramel in the aroma.

It's like sipping on water with hints of roasted malts and caramel. I'll pass on this next time!

Nils Oscar Coffee Stout 330ml, 6% - Sweden

Poured pitch black with pretty much no head.

Very sweet and fruity aroma. Vanilla, coffee and caramel.

The flavor does reflect the aroma, but it does need more character, more flavor!

It's very weak.

Nils Oscar God Lager 330ml, 5.3% - Sweden

Crystal clear golden color with a one finger compact, white head.

Sweet and malty aroma. Honey, syrup and bread.

Floral hops, herbs, malts and light spices.

I can't say that I'm very disappointed with Nils Oscar. :)

Nils Oscar Kalasöl 330ml, 5.2% - Sweden

Poured cherry red with a creamy off white head.

Roasted malts and caramel in the aroma.

The flavor is reflecting the nose. Roasted malts, caramel, spices and hoppy bitterness.

Not bad at all!

Nils Oscar Pils 330ml, 5% - Sweden

Poured golden color with a white head.

Very bready aroma. Some malts and almost no hops.

Crispy, bitter flavor. Bready with some syrup, hops, malts and hints of biscuit.

Quite OK for a hot summer day..!

Nils Oscar India Ale 330ml, 5.3% - Sweden

Poured clear amber with an air full light tan head.

Pines, hops, grapefruit and malts in the aroma.

The taste is not as exiting as the aroma. Hoppy bitterness up front, some sweetness from the malts, biscuit and that's pretty much it.

Nils Oscar Kalaspåsköl 2010 330ml, 5.6% - Sweden

Poured red amber with almost no head.

Slightly roasted malts, some chocolate, malty and bready aroma.

Roasted malts, some tobacco, caramel, syrup and brown sugar. This tastes a lot like an English Porter. Quite sweet, but pleasant at the same time.
