The cork popped and the beer poured a dark red color with a small head which didn't take long to settle.
What a weird smell. It starts off fruity and yeasty, but then suddenly changes to an unpleasant sort of rotten smell.
Malty and fruity taste. Some caramel, some hops and a pinch of spices.
This taste completely different from the "regular" Rochefort 8.
According to Beer Advocate this is a Dubbel and the "regular" Rochefort 8 is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale.
P.S. I didn't have the official glass at the time.
One of my favorite trappist beers.
